[Home-About Occupy Library 2024]
Occupy Library is an event set out by the Progress Foundation and the Biblioteche oggi Association in partnership with Next Library.
Occupy Library brings together the innovative ideas that are implemented in libraries from the Central, Eastern European, Black Sea, Caucasus, and Caspian regions. It provides a space for sharing good practices and supporting best ways to make libraries more involved in their community’s events, and in 2024 it will be part of the Stelline Conference. The former 3 editions of the conference took place in Bucharest, Romania. This is the first edition, which will take place abroad.
The Stelline Conference, promoted by the Biblioteche oggi Association, is the largest library conference in Italy, with over 2000 participants from small and large public and academic libraries. After many years, the Stelline Conference has come to an important renewal, inspired by new trends, in which we proposed to involve participants in co-creation and co-design, in interactive meetings and in the prototyping of new services for users.
In 2023, a partnership between the Progress Foundation and the Biblioteche oggi Association begins with the aim of reinforcing an international network – in Southern Europe and Mediterranean area – of library professionals, innovators and decision makers who make changes that support learning and digital transition in the 21st century through an alliance with the Danish Next Library Festival.
From North to South and East of Europe, libraries are joining forces to shape their future together and react to the evolving needs of citizens and society.
